Garlic mustard removal at Saugatuck Dunes State Park

04/20/2024 10:00 AM - 01:00 PM ET

Description

About the project: Join MUCC's OTG program at Saugatuck Dunes State Park in partnership with the Michigan DNR Parks & Recreation Division to remove invasive garlic mustard. Invasive species spread quickly, outcompeting native plants. Removing these species will allow native plants to grow. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 10 A.M. - 1 P.M. Gear, lunch, and a volunteer gift will be provided to registered volunteers.

Meeting location: Meet at the small parking area adjacent to the Felt Mansion in Saugatuck Dunes State Park

What to bring: Attendees are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle, although bottled water will be provided throughout the day. All necessary equipment for the project will be provided. The project will take place rain or shine unless there is severe weather so please dress accordingly.

Registration for the event will close on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 4 P.M. If you need to register after the close date, email sscheitz@mucc.org

Please contact MUCC's Habitat Program and Partnerships Coordinator Sarah Scheitz at sscheitz@mucc.org with any questions regarding this event or the OTG program.
