About the project: Join MUCC's OTG program at Gourdneck State Game Area (SGA) in Kalamazoo County in partnership with the Michigan DNR and the City of Portage Parks and Recreation in removing woody invasives like glossy buckthorn to make room for native plants to grow. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 9 A.M. - 12 P.M. Lunch, gear, and volunteer gifts will be provided.  Restrooms will be available at the project site.

 

Meeting location: Volunteers will meet at the Gourdneck SGA access lot just south of the Angling and Center Park and Ride.

What to bring: Bring your work gloves and enthusiasm for working outdoors. Closed-toed waterproof boots, a warm coat, and a hat are highly recommended. The project will take place rain or shine unless there is severe weather so please dress accordingly.
